Biography

Kristian Brink was born in a small village in the south of Sweden at the 10th of March 1985. His mother is a nurse and his father is an electronics engineer. He has two older siblings, one brother and one sister.

At the age of eleven he started playing the electric organ which was followed by playing the clarinet. Finally he began to play the saxophone and the piano. He completed 12 years of musical studies, including four years of studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, in 2007.

Influences are based on his early interest in Afro-American jazz music with idols such as Charlie Parker and Sonny Rollins until he discovered musicians like John Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Chris Potter and Joshua Redman, just to name a few. Among the musicians influencing him, Keith Jarret has also played an important role in his ongoing spiral of musical education.
